This page provides information about which personal data are processed through the use of this website and its offers by Ringmetall SE, Innere Wiener Str. 9, 81667 Munich (“Ringmetall“) and for which purposes this data is used.

The terminology used is based on wording used by the European legislature and regulators in the adoption of the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”).

1. Whose personal data are processed (category of data subjects)?

Persons affected by processing are all visitors and users of the Ringmetall website (collectively referred to as “users”).

2. What data is processed when visiting the Ringmetall website?

When visiting Ringmetall’s website, Ringmetall’s servers automatically store various data about the accessing system (“access data“). 

The access data include:

  • IP address
  • Browser type and browser version
  • Operating system used
  • Referrer URL
  • Host name of the accessing computer
  • Time of the server query

Ringmetall uses this access data in order to make the website accessible, to recognize and remedy any technical problems that may arise and to prevent and, if necessary, prosecute misuse of Ringmetall’s offer. 

In addition, Ringmetall reserves the right to access the access data in anonymous form, i.e. without being able to identify the user, for statistical purposes and to improve the website. 

The legal basis for processing of access data as personal data of the user is Article 6 para. 1 letter f) GDPR. 

3. What are cookies and how are they used?

Ringmetall uses cookies to improve presentation and navigation. A cookie is a text file sent from the web server to the browser. This file contains the URL visited, the date of the visit and an expiration date that determines the period of activity of the cookie. On the one hand, Ringmetall uses cookies to determine popular areas of Ringmetall websites and, on the other hand, to enable the user to save their personal settings so that they are available again the next time the page is visited. To identify popular, visited areas of the Ringmetall website aggregated statistics are created from website visits.

On websites where cookies are used, a banner about the use of cookies is displayed.

You have the choice to decide if you want to accept cookies or not. You can set your browser to notify you when you receive a cookie or you can exercise your legal right to object by refusing cookies in your browser settings.

The legal basis for the use of cookies is Article 6 para. 1 letter f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in the fact that we can perform statistical evaluations regarding the use of our website and optimize our online offers for users via data processing

4. Integration of third party services 

Within this website, Ringmetall employs content or service offerings of third party suppliers on the basis of the legitimate interests of Ringmetall (i.e. interest of Ringmetall regarding analysis, optimization and economic operation of the online offer within the meaning of Art. 6 para. 1 letter f) of the GDPR), such as may include videos or fonts. 

Google Web Fonts

This site uses so-called web fonts, provided by Google, for the uniform representation of fonts. When you call up a page, your browser loads the required web fonts into your browser cache to display texts and fonts correctly.

To do this, your browser must connect to Google’s servers. As a result, Google learns that our website has been accessed via your IP address. The use of Google Web Fonts is in the interest of a consistent and attractive presentation of our online services. 

If your browser does not support web fonts, a default font will be used by your computer.

5. Plug-ins and tools 

Google Maps

Ringmetall integrates the maps of the Google Maps service provided by Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheater Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. Inclusion of Google Maps is in the interest of an attractive presentation of the online offer and to ensure easy location of the places specified by Ringmetall on the website. This constitutes a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR.

The processed data may include, in particular, users’ IP addresses and location data, but these are not collected without their consent (usually as part of the settings of their mobile devices). The data may be processed in the USA. Privacy policy: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/,

6. Online presence on social media

Ringmetall maintains an online presence within social networks and platforms in order to communicate with active customers, prospective customers and users and to inform them about its services. When visiting the respective networks and platforms, the terms and conditions and the data processing guidelines of their respective operators apply. 

Unless otherwise specified in this privacy policy, Ringmetall will process users’ data as long as they communicate with Ringmetall within social networks and platforms, e.g. write articles on Ringmetall’s online presence or send Ringmetall messages.

7. Communication using the email functions / contact form

Ringmetall offers the option to contact Ringmetall by email and to write messages that, at the discretion of the user, go beyond disclosure of the sender’s email address and may also disclose other personal data (e.g. first name and surname, title, address, telephone number, e-mail text, context of the request). The user decides about the nature and extent of the information disclosed beyond the email address. 

The data will not be used for other purposes or passed on to third parties without your express consent. This excludes our subsidiaries, for the purposes of fulfilling your request. If there are no statutory storage requirements, your personal data will be deleted after the request has been processed.

The legal basis for data processing is Article 6 para. 1 letter f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is that Ringmetall needs your information in order to process or respond to your message.

8. Transmission and transfer of personal data to third parties

Ringmetall transmits personal data to its subsidiaries for the above mentioned purposes. Transmission takes place, in particular, when the user’s email requests (see Section 6 above) come under the business areas / offers of the respective subsidiaries. 

The legal basis for the above mentioned transfer of personal data is Article 6 para. 1 letter f) GDPR. 

Ringmetall works with technical service providers (so-called processors) as part of the provision of the website, such as IT application and web management service providers who access personal data to provide these services. These service providers are carefully selected, operate only as directed by Ringmetall and are contractually bound to comply with applicable data protection requirements and are not resident in third party countries. The legal basis for the above-mentioned transfer of personal data is Article 6 para. 1 letter f) GDPR. 

Furthermore, reference is made to the transmission of information in the course of the use of cookies described in detail in Sections 3-5.

Except as set forth in this Privacy Policy, Ringmetall will only disclose data to third parties without your explicit consent, if Ringmetall is required to do so by law or by any official or court order.

9. Deletion periods

Access data (see Section 2) are deleted if their knowledge is no longer required for the purposes described in this privacy policy, unless statutory provisions prescribe a longer storage period. Access data is regularly stored for a period of 30 days. 

The personal data collected using Ringmetall’s email function / contact form (see Section 7) will be deleted as soon as they are no longer required for data processing, i.e. regularly, once the request has been finalized. 

10. Rights of the user

The user has the following rights or entitlements. Their assertion is processed immediately and does not lead to any disadvantages for the user.

  • Right to information (Article 15 GDPR)
  • Right to rectification (Article 16 GDPR)
  • Right to object (Article 21 GDPR)
  • Right to cancellation (Article 17 GDPR)
  • Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18f. GDPR)
  •  Right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)

The user also has the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority if they consider that the processing of their personal data by Ringmetall violates the GDPR. In addition to the data protection authority responsible for Ringmetall (see Section 11 below), the acting watchdog authorities at the habitual residence of the user, the user’s workplace and the location of the alleged infringement are also responsible. Additional rules on the appeal procedure can be found under Art. 77 GDPR.

12. SSL or TLS encryption

This website uses an SSL / TLS encryption for security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as the enquiries that you send to us as the website operator. You can identify an encrypted connection by the fact that the address line of the browser changes from “http://” to “https://” and by the lock symbol that appears in your browser line.

If the SSL / TLS encryption is activated the data that you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.

13. Change of privacy policy

Ringmetall reserves the right to change this privacy policy if necessary to conform to changes to the material or legal conditions.
